Testing the waters, gently
These are not conclusions, they’re seedlings—shared so we can notice together what wants to grow.
Today our discernment turned toward experiment. We realized that what feels most alive is not pausing for a season until some handy shift in the calendar, but gently testing the waters now—to see if something wants to emerge, and to notice if it does not.
The question isn’t, “How do we commit to a big new offering?” but rather, “What would it be like to take a few small steps and see if life gathers around them?” We are sensing into micro-experiments: short, time-bound circles or gatherings that let us feel whether live accompaniment nourishes us and you, or whether the soil simply wants more rest.
This is less about building and more about listening. Less about proving and more about noticing.
There is grief in the background—grief for what we once imagined, and uncertainty about what will become. But today, experiment felt like the truest way to honor both what has been and what might still sprout.
We’d love for you to walk alongside us in this discernment—not as decision-makers, but as witnesses. If you feel moved, share a single word of aliveness in the comments: something you notice stirring in you as you read what has been moving through us.
And also, we wonder with you in your own contexts:
When you’re at a crossroads, what helps you discern whether to pause or to take a small step forward?
How do you know when it’s time to test the waters, even without guarantees?
This is not an answer—it’s a seedling. 🌱
With care,
Val + Alis
